Village Water_Zambia_2009-2018
At Village Water we like to work with communities long term, checking on their progress and monitoring the long term impact of our work in terms of functionality, health and H&S. We try and revisit a percentage of villages we've previously worked in each year to check on our sustainability and functionality of our waterpoints.

We regularly conduct follow ups on our work using a mixture between our local partners and local authority staff who have had training in our monitoring systems. We aim to conduct around 300 follow ups per year. Prioritising villages that we have either not been visited recently, that were flagged as performing badly in term of hygiene and sanitation or where the pump is not functional or the efficiency is no longer optimal.
